I’m working a project called Argus. In Greek mythos, Argus Panoptes (literally “the all seeing”) was a many-eyed giant. He was Hera’s servant and an effective watchman since it was believed that he could never shut all of his eyes—not even to sleep! (Aside: he would have made an excellent DevOps engineer.) Hera tasked him to guard the nymph Io (who was apparently in disguise as a cow), and Zeus had Hermes kill Argus to free her. To commemorate her faithful watchman, Hera had the hundred eyes of Argus preserved forever in a peacock’s tail feathers.
In short, the Argus myth is a type of Just So Story to postulate the origins of the distinctive eye-like patterns at the end of a peacock’s tail feathers. With that in mind, what better way to represent a platform called Argus than with a peacock-tail feather logo.
